Only 9 Days this Month Without Rain

No picture for this post, just a sad story. We had a tiny bit of blue sky this morning so I ran out to RE-hang the clothes that were brought in the house wet last night. I was so hopeful about getting these things dry. A load of whites and a load of towels, the stuff you need daily.
I get done, walk in the house to see a special weather notice on the TV. Severe thunderstorms heading right for us, should arrive within minutes. I run out and grab some of the more important whites, figuring I will hang them up in the house. By the time I took down the last piece I was planning on drying in the house, the heavens opened and torrential rain began to fall. I just stood in the back hall, looking out the screen door, watching two lines of clothes get drenched, AGAIN.
Maybe tomorrow they will dry, maybe...
Simple living isn't always so easy.

We have fold out racks to hang them on inside. Of course, that might not work in a damp climate.

Hi Sunny, We have one too, but it doesn't hold a whole load of clothes. And you are right, that when its this damp outside, its damp inside too.

Patty, I know how you feel. I have laundry out on the line as well, I'm trying to think of it as a rinse cycle from Heaven! LOL, I am probably going to have to drag them in and put them in the dryer. I can only recall one other rainy season like this one. 10 years ago I planted onions and when it was time to harvest them I got tiny little bulbs with large greens and when I cut into them water would our out. Too wet! Potatoes rotter in the ground too!
Sunny days are coming though!

Grace & Peace

My kids always tease me that their mom can make it rain. Seems like if I get the clotheslines all full with clothes (mine is big..holds at least 4 full loads of clothes) it will rain for sure. If I do that and wash the car it will rain without fail. I should hire myself out in drown prone areas..huh?
I hope you are able to get them dry tomorrow!

It's finally not raining outside! And just about warm enough again to go swimming! I've been looking forward to summer so much this year because Alex is a little older and might enjoy the pool even more than he did last year and it's been cool and/or raining!!!

Patty, we are finally getting some rain here and it is so desperately-needed! I'm looking out the window smiling, watching my thirsty gardens soak it up.

Ms. Patty, I have been worried about you. I have come to your blog several times and haven't heard anything out of you. Is everything ok? I pray that nothing is wrong. Take care and hope you are posting again before to long.

Its been crazy dry here for a change, seems every rain storm misses my town barely. Last year it was non stop rain, all my plants did poorly, most rotted in the ground.

I would feel very frustraited if I couldnt dry my laundry!

Patty, Like Laura, I'm a little concerned that you haven't posted in quite a few days. I hope that everything is well, and that you're just really busy! I'll keep checking back.
