I enjoyed looking over these posts you provided today. I feel like I know you even better. Back in the early 80's I had a friend at our little Baptist Church and she was raising 3 teens alone. She lived much like the Menonites and had been raised in a Brethren Church. She and I got on quite well despite others thinking she and her family were "weird". I for one didn't think that was very Christian of them and enjoyed our friendship immensely.

I've never made candles though I enjoy their warming glow in my home. I burn the scented jar variety mostly.
I've never made soap but I'm sure it has to be better than what you can buy at a store!
I have been aquainted with frugal living. Our life financally has had it's ups and downs.
I've never made a loaf of bread in my life. I tried to make a pizza dough one time and ripped a hole in it and have never tried anything with yeast since...lol! Now, cornbread...I can make some great cornbread!
Oh now that is a great idea!

Hi Patty, I too make beeswax candles, but I use a tin mold, I've never tried dipping, but I do own back to basics so maybe I will give it a try sometime. I also make lye soap, my favourite is tea tree and peppermint, together.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words on my homeschooling blog!! :-)
Nice to *meet* you!

You have a lovely blog yourself!!

Those bread loaves - I definitely want to look at your "how-to" article on that - I've never in all my life made bread loaves so beautiful!!

The other articles look like very worthwhile reads as well.

Many blessings to you and your family,
Katie

haven't made bread in a slow cooker, just love having the oven going in winter to warm up that end of the house!
I seem to like the shape of conventional loaves but I know folks do a lot of baking in crock pots with good success.
