We are Back, Refreshed and Relaxed
We came home early today due to storms. Lots of lightening and some heavy rain.
What a delightful weekend. It was so restful that I didn't even bother to take many pictures.
Saturday, I never even knew what time it was, just looked up at the sun to guess the time.
We ate when we were hungry and went to bed not long after sunset.
We stayed pretty close to "home", which amounted to life around the fire. We both relaxed enough to realize we were tired, so no huge hikes.
Despite the joy of doing nothing, It was extremely hot and humid. Difficult to sleep it was so hot.
Just after falling asleep friday night, we were invaded by raccoons.. We had left out a small box and they tossed it around looking to see if there was something delectable inside. There wasn't, but they sure looked. It appeared to be 5 of the masked bandits. They were fun to watch in the moonlight.
We left the fly off the tent Friday night and looked up at the stars for hours. Our tent has screen all the way to the top from about half way up making star gazing quite easy. It was a one night thing, since Saturday night the sky was filled with clouds. We had heard storms were predicted for Sunday. And storms they were.
Sunday morning we sure got that fly on fast with the first drops of rain !
Time now to unpack our gear, clean it all up put things in their rightful place until next time, which I hope will just be in a couple weeks.
Funny thing, I never once missed the computer or the phone ! I feel lazy and that is a good feeling right now after my busy last few months.
