Rain Again....said cheerfully

This afternoon the sky turned gray, heavy with rain clouds. Such a welcome sight for a parched land.
I walked around the land, surveying the damage of this hot dry summer. Two peach trees dead. One plum tree dead and a garden that lay dry and brittle.
Sunflowers stunted, now empty of the few seeds they carried.
With the rain will come renewal, tiny bits of green will sprout from the earth. Fall gardens will be planted, seeds put in the ground with faith and hope that they will grow.
Cooler temperatures again on the way. Cold fronts arriving. "Cold front" a strong phrase for what will arrive.... perhaps "cooler front" more appropriate.
Fall colors line the stores, and people seem more friendly, less worn out. The long dry summer coming to an end makes one feel as if on the cusp of some new adventure.
The rain, a blessing in so many ways.

Pat, will you be able to do a fall garden at all, if the rains keeps coming?

We will give it a try, as long as the temps are not in the 90's with no rain. I was looking at pictures from last fall and by the middle of Oct we had a good garden going.
