Planning A Wedding

It looks as if there will be another wedding in our family. Yup, we have taken the advice of two loving daughters and countless blog friends. We are going to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary in a special way....we are going to have the wedding I had dreamed of. Now the hard part is, do we have the wedding I dreamed of way back in the 1970's complete with a Gunne Sax wedding dress of that time period (there is one just like I wanted on ebay right now)or do something more contemporary : ) Good thing I have a year to work on the details along with a year to loose some weight.
What fun this is going to be.

Oh this is wonderful news !
If you dreamed of a Gunne Sax dress back then and you can get one on ebay now... well GO for it if that's what you want. :-)
1970's... contemporary...It's your wedding darlin', so do whatever it takes to make it memorable and special for you and your hubby.

*doin' a happy dance*

What a fabulous idea! My hubby of 38 years & I got married by a JP, but it wasn't a first marriage for either of us so it was OK. Enjoy the planning!

I seem to have missed the original post... I'll have to go back and look.

I think it's wonderful that you are going to have a wedding. I think you should do whatever your dream is now. Whether that is the dress you wanted then, or a new one that has caught your eye.

If it was me I'd get the Gunne Sax dress (it's beautiful!)and have the seventies wedding that never was, it is the one that I would have been thinking of all these years. I think you should have which ever one you've been dreaming of

GET THE GUNNEY SACK NOW BABY. If you change your mind and do something else, at least you will have your dream dress. No, never mind that. Anybody can do contemporary. You do your dream. You KNOW you are a gunne girl.

I am so glad that you are going to do this. My grandparents eloped and renewed their vows on their 50th anniversary. All of their children and grandchildren were there and it was quite memorable. My grandfather was not a demonstrative guy in a public forum and it was sweet to see him so at his own wedding. You will have so much fun planning this with your family.
