Banana Bargin !

All this for $6 ! I will freeze most of them for "banana ice cream" made with our Champion Juicer and then some will be for smoothies. I will dry some bananas whole for snacks. They are so good dried whole. They get a licorice texture and are so sweet, you are sure you are eating candy. Sure looks like I have my work cut out for me today.

Could you please tell me more about drying the whole bananas? I have a food dehydrator, but I'd suspect you don't use that...do you peel, do you use a fruit-fresh preservative? Thanks in advance.

I do use a dehydrator. I peel the banana's and try to find the smaller ones of my bunches and then lay them on the trays so they do not touch. I don't add anything to them. I turn them after a couple days and thats all I do.

I haven't seen my dehydrator in years but you're making me want to find it. You just peel the bananas and leave them whole?

oh, patty, these dried bananas sound great, I have to try it, I do not have dehydrator, but I guess it must be possible to do even without it, we usually dry apples and pears and plums without anything just lying on a clean paper or sometimes putting it in the template oven... so, may be it works with bananas as well!!! I go to give it a try...
