Small Town America on the 4th of July

Texans tend to be pretty patriotic, and the 4th of July is a great way to show their love of country. Folks in town have donated flags so that our main road can be lined with the Red, White and blue on both sides for over half a mile. Its a pretty site and especially lovely today with the gentle breeze. Each year there is a small parade through town, with fire trucks, police cars, some horses and lots of fun. The rain held off until it was over. There is a real sense of community pride in this town, and since its such a small town, you get to know just about everyone in some way or another.
Emery took me out for Chinese food tonight and about half way through the meal Melanie, Casi and the baby came in too. The waitress knows us well so she told Melanie and Casi that we were there too. It was nice to have them join us and of course Grammie got to hold sweet Mei-Ling.
This wee one could not take her eyes off her daddy tonight at the restaurant. Even at her age, she is a daddy's girl !

Ooh, the flags look so pretty. But not as pretty as you know who.

She's so cute and growing so fast. I remember that you had said the doctors had said not to take her out for the first year. I'm guessing she's doing so well, that has all changed! She's certainly a cutie!
