Our New High Wheel Cultivator

Emery ordered a High Wheel Cultivator from Lehman's last week and what fun we have had with it. It makes the nicest rows for planting and is just easy to use. Something special about being out in the quiet of the morning, no machine noise, no gasoline fumes, just you, the earth and a hand tool. To me, that's more of the way working on the land should be, less intrusive, a time of peaceful contemplation, a time that you can think about life without all the noise and bone shaking of some modern machine.
I think this tool may just become one of those things that we "fight" over who gets to play with it.

I rather think Emory is enjoying using it!

I love that cultivator. I would love to get one like that for our garden. I hate the machine noise of our tiller. This year I plan to use my "garden weasel" tool to till some areas by hand to avoid the noise all I can.
Emery's hat is awesome too..love it.
I will sure keep Mei Ling my my prayers.

I love going to Lehman's website and oohing and ahhing over the stuff they have.
Once we get to Texas I plan on getting a few things from them, the main thing being the 'Wonder Washer' non electric washing machine. I have bid on them so many times on eBay but kept getting outbid and the prices were getting a little too high for me.
So, I thought, 'why not support a store who can use my money'. :-)
I like their drying racks as well, but I can get them cheaper at a Wal-Mart when I get there.

But yeah, Lehman's is a great place to shop for non electric stuff. :-)

Bless you!

Aunt Jenny, Emery has had that same hat for a decade and says its the best hat around for being outside. Its the same hat in the picture for MorningRamble Gifts.

Hi Dawn, I have one of the Lehmans drying racks and its made out of hardwood, which is why its expensive, in all the years I have used it, its never become rickedy like the ones from wal-mart so for me it has been worth the investment. Prior to purchasing the Lehmans rack, I had gone through a couple of the cheap ones. Lehmans is more expensive than some of the Amish dry goods stores in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana etc. If you had opportunity to visit Amish country you could probably find one cheaper.

I have drying racks from both Lehman's and Target and I agree wholeheartedly with Patty - the Lehman's rack will outlast 10 of the cheaper racks. Well worth the investment.

My dad has always used one of those. We always dreaded seeing it come out of the garage because we knew we would be planting all day. Now I wish we could plant a garden. It's amazing how one's perspective changes.
