chores and more, a busy weekend

The weekend was full of chores needing to be done. Garden tilled a second time. More fencing and gates delivered to be put up around the garden. Seed potatoes cut. Laundry washed and hanging in the wind. Chicks and Ducklings cages cleaned. Windows washed. Stove scrubbed. And of course the every day chores of feeding and caring for the critters. Tomorrow is Melanie's 25th birthday so the house got a little extra scrub and shine in preparation for a little party for her.
A full 8 hours of hard work outside makes you anxious for bed time. The pair of hawks that have been soaring over head the past couple days, came so close today, maybe just 15 feet over my head. I wonder if they are building a nest in the woods at the back of our land. A huge skunk marched along the neighbors fence line today while I was looking out the window. Tail held high over his back as he strutted along. Sure was glad he was not too close. Soup for supper, which was perfect for a rainy evening. Thunder now rumbling, good time to go to bed.

Velvet...great name for a beautiful cat. Everything looks so peaceful, even the storm clouds are beautiful!

What beautiful pictures! The good thing about working hard for yourself is that it comes with such a wonderful feeling of pride and the tired we feel at the end of the day has its own rewarding feel about it!
I find I sleep so much better after a good day of work around the homestead versus a long day at my job!
Have a wonderful evening!
Blessings,
Annie

Thanks Bev for reminding me of that web site. I used to go there from time to time when I was a goat project leader for 4-H to get ideas and things to share with my group
Oh my, your photography is amazing! The photo of the towels blowing in the breeze is so special. What a treat for the eyes!
