Making a Change

I love my blog, but don't blog for the amount of hits it received or how much traffic it gets. Maybe I have been at it long enough now to be past that aspect of blogging. I no longer ask folks to link back to a post I have written, be it for a give away or some weekly sharing event etc. I always appreciate awards and am humbled by them, but I no longer particiapte in them.
There have been times for me, when I do participate in some linky thing, that it has felt more like I am doing advertising for someones blog, than sharing something, be it a joy or whatever.
I will no longer be participating in any reciprocal linking.
Not always, but very often it just feels like its more about the amount of traffic than sharing or giving away.

I only blog to share my thoughts and glean from others. I feel the same way the amount of hits and the awards are not important (to me)...I enjoy it when others chime in often their ideas or thoughts point me in a new direction or encourage me on the road I am on. hmmmmmmmm..that wording makes me sound like I am easily swayed but that is not what I mean. Sometimes God uses other people to point something out to me that may need correcting and for that I am open and grateful.

I agree...when I do a giveaway to celebrate my blog in anyway, I prefer people NOT link to it. I want one of my "friends" to win.

I agree. :) I recently gave you a bloggy "award" but purposely didnt pop over here to let you know so as to not pressure you in to doing anything about it. I just wanted to send some of my readers your way as I think they would enjoy your thoughts as much as I do. I hope you did not mind (if you even knew!). :)
