The Day in Pictures
With all that has happened in the world in the past week, I felt like I needed some comfort from the ordinary, the simple things in life. The things that feel constant and familiar to me.
Walking around the land today gave me a bit of that. Bright yellow flowers against the picket fence. Wood was delivered this week and the job of stacking it in the wood shed, still needing to be finished. A new rose. Wash cloths hanging on the line, all new and freshly washed. The sky changing colors as the sun sets in the western sky.
It gives me comfort to see what some would call, "ordinary things". They delight me with their extraordinary beauty.

Hubby and daughter have helped cut and bale hay for Texas this week! How neat. It made me think of you, being down there with the brown grass and drought from this summer.
Patty, how much land do you and Emery have?
Jackie in ON
You will be surprised to find out we have just about an acre of land.
We are in the city limits, its a tiny city though, and we can have animals.
So every square inch of our land is used as you may have noticed in some of the older pictures.
We have thought about getting more land, but where we are, on a main road in town, its been easy to sell our eggs and get to know the community.
