Life Is Short

This posting comes from my other blog I was reading through it this morning and this post made me think about the commitment to living life fully I make daily.

Life is short...don't wait to do the things you want to or the things you should do.
Don't wait to get healthy, do it now, your life will be richer for it.
Don't wait to mend fences that can be mended and
don't put off cutting ties that need to be cut.
Don't hang on to things that bring you down.
Don't let "what if's" keep you from trying.
Don't make excuses.
Imagine the positive.
Imagine what it will feel like to accomplish a goal.
Imagine what life can be for you.
Take steps daily that will get you to the place you want to go.
Walk more
Listen more
"Carpe Diem" it is said, should be translated...gather the day, as in picking or gathering fruit rather than siezing the day. There is a difference. So to you my friend, Carpe Diem !

That is very true! if we say I'll do it tomorrow, we may not get that tomorrow as we are only promised today.

You know, my dad just died. He was diagnosed with cancer in June and just drifted away until he died. It so bothers me that he didn't at least try and live his life -- even at the end when he knew he only had months to live. He just gave up. I don't want to make that same mistake. I've been doing a lot of soul searching, figuring out what I would do if I had only months to live and to not wait until then -- to do it NOW.

One thing I have started to do is to try and focus more on the organic-ness of my life instead of the materialistic-ness if that makes any sense. I don't want to end up like my dad.
