The Beauty Of Life

Taking time to sit in silence has filled me with a deep sense of peace, a calming much like how I feel in the evenings when Emery stands behind my chair and brushes my hair, his hand following the brush, ever so tender. I sort of melt into this place of weightlessness. A simple thing, this brushing of my hair but one of the truly beautiful moments in my life. There are so many.
Just the way the rain drops hang on the cedar branches, tiny orbs of the purest glass like water.
The way the rays of sun shine across the brown crisp grass of winter, golden hues on such dullness, a magic moment. Such beauty in the sound of the phone ringing, knowing on the other end is the delightful voice of a grown child, filled with the excitement of life or perhaps just wanting to chat about life in general and always saying " I love you" before hanging up.
There is beauty in the sound of Emery's breath as he sleeps soundly next to me and his laughter, bold and deep when I share a silly story with him.
The beauty of life is found in the clouds, the sunsets and sunrises. In friendships and in music that makes your spirit dance. How beautiful are baby kisses, little fingers learning to wave hello and good-bye.
I could make a list a mile long of beautiful things in each and every day, but sometimes we just forget to remember that they are beautiful. A glance across the room that tells you you are cherished. The taste of fresh strawberries. Snow glistening in the sunshine. The way wind feels on your face in spring, or how beautiful the colors of autumn leaves as they swirl and dance off the trees.
The way poetry sounds on your tongue and the way a painting stirs emotions deep within us.
Many of our memories are filled with the beauty of life, as are our hopes and dreams for things to come.
Long gone are the ripples of discord that grew from the tiny, insignificant stone thrown at me. Absorbed by the greater beauty of so many parts of my life and the negative has vanished.

I'm glad to read that you're regaining your balance and serenity. Some days are deep and momentous, but other days are just about the smallest most ordinary things.
How about sharing one of your recipes? You're such a good cook!

I needed to here this today! I get so caught up in my to do list that I often miss out on the opportunity to sit, listen, be silent and appreciate the beauty around me!
