Are your cats all outdoor cats? When I was a kid, we had 14 outdoor cats in our barns and out buildings. It was amazing to watch them all come running when we called them for dinner.

all outdoor cats Carrie, and ours all come running when the back door opens, assuming every time we go out, it must be feeding time
