Saturday Thoughts and Sharing Some Links

Melissa called to tell me that she is enjoying a fall like day, the kind I love so well. Crisp air, blue sky the color of robin eggs, windows open, but with that slight chill, time for favorite sweaters and wool socks. It will be a while before we have that kind of weather in Texas, it makes me sigh that sort of ho hum, it comes out as sort of a sigh, a longing kind of ho hum. Maybe, I am a bit jealous of Melissa's Vermont weather today, forget the word maybe, I am jealous !
Found some great sites today while sipping pumpkin spice coffee. The kind of sites to share and some blogs that are inspiring and thought provoking.
Here they are....
http://www.walkscore.com/ see how walker friendly your neighborhood is. Think its just for the U.S. though. My neighborhood scored a 47. Not too many destinations in this tiny town !
http://www.luckycrow.com/ Lucky Crow Fabric Gift Bags, gift wrap with no tape, scissors, waste and good for the environment along with being very cute.
http://toddlerplanet.wordpress.com/ wonderful blog, a scientist mom staying home with her toddlers and now facing chemo
http://www.ecohome.org/pages/index.html Wonderful insight on living green. I saw the woman interviewed on PBS and really liked her from what I saw.
http://www.enviromom.com/ Really really like this blog. Great ideas for any area even though the emphasis is on Portland. Great tie dye napkin idea on there too.
Give these sites a visit, I have put up links for most of them in my Links section

The site Walkscore.com caused my interest. I believe that walk score is cool, but nowadays more and more people prefer to drive cars. Homes are often located in an area where some establishments are easier to get to by car than on foot. I've recently found a type of service on drivescore which is called Drive Score. It shows a map of what establishments are in your neighborhood and calculates a Drive Score based on the number of places within a convenient driving distance. It doesn’t mean that drive score is better than walk score – they are equal and both necessary in the modern world!

I've visited Drive score and now I find it really convinient tool. I've also found on Fizber.com a service Climate Watch which allows homebuyers to check what the climate is like in another town or city all year round before they move there. That's cool!
