Morning Light
As the morning sun crept in through the back door and landed on the kitchen table, set for breakfast, the shadow made a huge smile on the plate, giving it a clowns face without eyes.
This funny sight made me laugh one of those almost but not quite chuckles. A simple pleasure. There were a few of those simple pleasure moments today...being wakened by baby sounds, Mei-Ling loves the ceiling fan and has long one sided conversations to the one over her baby bed . A quick glance at the clock gives me another good feeling, this tiny one slept 9 hours last night. Just before climbing out of bed, there next to me a note from my dear sweet gentle man.
"Dearest Patty", it reads, " I love you forever". Written quickly on one of his little note pads he carries faithfully in his shirt pocket. He has carried them for so many years. Notes taken during the hectic days at work. Every year he gets a huge package of those little flip over note pads in his Christmas stocking and every year he says, he is "so glad Santa knows what he needs."
The morning light shed clearly on just how good life is.
