Morning Time
It's 8 am and it feels like I have put in a full days work already. Two loads of wash hanging on the line, most of the dishes from last nights supper washed and put away. (naturally we don't have a mechanical dishwasher, just me now) Breakfast eaten, some sewing done, chickens tended to, cats fed and the house tidied up.
The sky is overcast this morning, the greens darker with the dampness of the dew, the grass dressed up in a faint layer of moisture that shows off every step you take. Its humid, but not hot, September in Texas weather for sure. The kind of morning that makes you think about stacking wood for the coming cold, and of knitting new winter hats or having Emery drag the winter clothes down from the attic.
Its baking weather. Its time to hay the barns and clean out the nesting boxes in the hen house and fill them up with sweet smelling hay.
Time again to get busy again, lamps need to be cleaned and filled. I wish they made self cleaning
chimneys for lamps !
A trip to Ft Worth with Melanie and Mei-Ling, for Mei-Lings test. Praying its really good news.
Aya and my plastic crow on the lookout for something interesting
