My First Machine Quilting

Loving my new Pfaff and had fun machine quilting this baby quilt I had started to hand quilt. Took out the small amount of hand quilting and tried the quilting stitch on my new machine. It was so easy to do and so quick. Seems to me that machine quilting may be more practical for a baby quilt with all the washing it will encounter.
The doll is mine, his name is Daniel and for a while I wondered if he would be the closest thing to a grandbaby I would get

Lovely quilt! I toally agree with you about the washing. I prefer to make babyquilts both machine pieced and -quilted so it won't be ruined during washing.

I agree, also. That is the main reason I used the machine to applique the letters on the baby quilts I am working on now. I like the look of hand applique better, but this is much sturdier(Fusible PLUS machine stitching). Glad you're enjoying your new machine!

Looks great! Isn't it quick doing it on the machine? I've thought about you all week with your new machine. Glad to see you're putting it to good use . . although I knew you would!

Great job for your first machine quilted project! I love machine quilting baby quilts, but the bigger sizes are a struggle so I'm turning to handquilting those. I agree, baby quilts get so used, they need to be sturdy :-)
