Busy Baking

A bit cooler weather this afternoon prompted me to bake some banana nut bread, along with the fact that the other day I purchased 5 bags of over ripe banana's for a total of $5. I froze most of the banana's for smoothies, made banana pancakes for breakfast today and made 4 loaves of banana bread this afternoon. It will be nice to have a few loaves in the freezer for when company stops by unexpected. Its a lazy sort of day, just puttering around at a slow speed.
Melanie went to a wedding last night and due to a road closure, she and her long time friend Joy had to take a different road...they got a bit misplaced and needed some help getting back on the right road that would bring them home. I was so grateful for cell phones and for maps on the computer that allowed us to tell them what exit they needed to take and how far it would be.
It was stressful for all of us, them being lost, and us here at home full of worry. Everyone was praying hard and by 12:30 am Melanie was safely at home with one very grateful husband and just down the road, two very grateful parents.
