Sunset Beauty

Emery and I had a "date" tonight. Even after nearly 29 years of marriage, we still date. Still sit across from one another starry eyed. As we were getting ready to head out, the sky was ablaze with color. I was snapping picture after picture off our front porch. Off the back porch, the view was just as lovely but different. From there I had a great view of the moon in the eastern sky. As we got in the car and headed down the road the entire sky was on fire with color. I asked Emery to pull over at the next corner so I could get a picture of it, but there was a building in the way, obscuring some of the view. We drove not more than 1/4 mile down the road, to the pond hoping to get a good shot but in that tiny amount of time, the sun had sunk lower in the sky and the colors faded into a cool pale orange/gray. A reminder of how fast our earth changes.
We decided that the gorgeous view, just minutes ago, would have to be engraved in our memories for just us to share. On another note, tonight Melissa is feeling poorly. She called to tell me she has a fever of 102 and is coughing. She had spent the afternoon sledding with her students and felt all achy. Her back was sore from riding over all the bumps of the hill at a rather high rate of speed. Too many aches and pains at one time. She went to bed with James looking after her. Melanie spent much of the afternoon sleeping, since you don't get much sleep in the hospital. Keep them both in your prayers if you think of it.

It feels like its been a very long day. Off to climb under the covers and dream sweet dreams.

I will pray for your girls Pat.

That last picture looks like the steam rising off of some hot springs or something. Great pictures Pat!!!

These are lovely photographs especially the first one. The colours are just magnificent aren't they? I hope both your girls are feeling better, it was good to hear that Melanie is home again and sleeping.
