The Baby Shower in Pictures

As promised, here are some pictures of the baby shower we had for Melanie yesterday. We had just about 40 people share the joy of showering Melanie and Casi with things for Mei-Ling.
The living room was full to capacity to be sure. Standing room only at one point. The baby received the most wonderful gifts and with each present unwrapped, you could hear lots of oooohhhhh's and aaahhhhhhhhh's.
I think this baby will be the best dressed little girl in town. Everyone was so generous !
We enjoyed a delightful cake, some finger sandwiches, several healthy treats and punch. I tried to keep it simple.
We played two games, one with tiny clothes pins, on clothespin given to each guest, and when someone heard you use the word BABY, you could take away their pin. The one with the most pins at the end of the shower, won.
And the other game was to guess the size of Melanie's tummy. Each person was allowed to break off a length of plastic tape that said, "how big is mommy's tummy" on it, the length they thought would fit around Melanie's tummy.
Both games were won by little girls ! They were so proud of themselves.
Melanie stayed put in the chair all day and just after the majority of the guests left, she laid down for a bit to rest. Right now she is at the Doctors for a check-up. Hoping all is well and praying that a way is made plain for her during the next few months to have insurance and no worry.
Enjoy the pictures !
I had to stand at the far end of the room so I could attend to the guests easily, so the pictures are from the furthest view possible !

A Note from Mei-Ling, thanking the guests

I'm glad Melanie was feeling well enough to enjoy her Baby Shower, the cake is beautiful. Mei-Ling is such a pretty name for the baby,is it pronounced May? May is my second name after my paternal grandmother, all my girl cousins on the paternal side are called something May. Tell her not to worry about insurance etc - as Mr Micawber said 'Something will turn up' but not as a result of worrying about it:)
What a lovely time you must have all had! So glad that Melanie was well.
Blessings. Lynda
