Catching Up

We took Melissa to the airport today which is always difficult. We all keep hoping they can move back to Texas soon. The week went by all too fast and yesterday with Melanie being whisked away by ambulance made our last full day together one of worry.
Melanie was released from the hospital with no clear explanation for what happened. The EMT's took her to the closest hospital and not the one that her Doctor is, even though we requested otherwise. I think they were worried and felt the nearest hospital was the best choice but with no medical records handy, the staff was really at a loss beyond stabilization.
This is now the second time this sort of thing has happened to Melanie, only this time her blood sugar was not high or low. Melanie had a few contractions but they were halted with some medication. She has 3 1/2 weeks until they are planning on doing her C-section.
I so appreciate all your prayers and hope you all will continue to pray for her and wee little Yen, that all will go well. Our weather has been cold and keeping the house warm has been a chore since we have often had to be gone early in the morning for Doctor visits with Melanie and Mei-Ling. No sense in getting the stove going just before we head out the door. Which often makes coming home in the afternoon a chilly experience. The last two nights have been in the very low 20's F with brutal wind chills. I was brave and hung 4 loads of laundry, needless to say I had some cold hands by the time the job was done.
This coming week will be a busy one, catching up on a few projects before more out of state company arrives for the holidays. This is a busy time of year, but this year it feels extra busy.

What were the results of Mei-Ling's appointment this week with the nephrologist? So glad Melanie is okay!

Lisa, the tests came back that there was no change from the last tests, which was good news. Her kidney function remains good

Patty, I'm glad to hear Melanie is doing well now. I wish you could have gotten a reason for her illness.

Also, I wanted to give you a heads up on the EMS taking her to the closest hospital. I was a paramedic, in Texas, for 12 years and they are required by law to take the patient to the nearest hospital unless it is a routine visit. I would recommend, from experience, that she keep a summary of her medical condition in her purse at all times.

When is the baby due to be born? I know you are all excited and ready to hold that sweet little blessing in your arms. I know I will be glad when my grandbaby gets here in April!

Grace & Peace
Pam
Thanks for the update on Melanie's condition. I keep her and all of you in my prayers. And I hope Melissa's drive home was not too bad. Our cottage in western NY has a foot of snow on the ground, I hear from neighbors.
