Evening Stroll
Emery and I went for a walk around the property tonight just as the day was turning into evening. The light was fading but it still felt more like day than night.
We discovered so many delights. A birds nest in the grape vines, a zig zag spider, (my unofficial name for it) a couple of beetles. Soapwort in bloom, along with oleander and roses. Mullein standing tall with blooms reaching upward to the sky
Just a stroll, hand in hand. Stopping to share in what we find. Kittens at play and mosquitoes in full force, which drove us inside rather quickly. With all the gas wells going up in our area, the salt water they use for drilling has brought marsh mosquitoes to the area, adding to our already large population. We already have to deal with West Nile Disease from some of our mosquitoes in the area. Evening is no longer a time to be hanging around outside !
