Sunbonnet Mother and Daughter Quilt

Here is a picture of my sunbonnet mother and daughter quilt I have been working on in for the past two weeks. I had so much fun hand embroidering the mother and daughter squares. Now I just need to figure out how I want to make the quilt bigger ! There are no more embroidered squares.

weather: sunny and 54
drinking: rose petal tea
listening to smokey mountain hymns

The embroidery pieces look just great Patty, you did a good job!

I suppose you don't have more of the darker solid? If you did/do you could add a strip to each side of the embroidered blocks, "framing them" as it were. Of course then the patch blocks wouldn't fit next to them as well as now...hmmmmmm

Patty: Not sure about the best way to make it bigger. Depends on what fabrics you have left or how you want it to end up. I'm thinking I would add a border of muslin or whatever the background is for the embroidered squares, then maybe add a row of nine patches. How much larger do you want it to be?

i would like it to be at least twin size. I have quite a lot of the unbleached fabric and lots more 9 patch blocks

Patty, I posted a couple of drawings from EQ over on my blog. Didn't know if I could send an attachment to your e-mail. Hope you don't mind and hope it gives you some ideas.

It's really beautiful Patty! You did such a great job on it so far! How much of which fabrics do you have left over? What does it measure now and how big do you want it? I think judy has already shared some great ideas!
