Quilt blocks for Mei-Ling

Haven't had a lot of time to be on the computer in the past couple days so thought I would quick and upload some pictures of the quilt blocks for you all to see and that way you can see if your block has arrived : ) You can click the photos to make them bigger.
The blocks are all so beautiful. I am anxious to start putting them together. Tomorrow afternoon after we take Melissa to the airport, will begin some busy sewing hours, which is good, it will help me keep busy and not think so much about her not being here !

The blocks are beautiful! My sewing machine is in the shop or I would send along a few. My mom does cross stitch and I sew. We have been doing blocks for a quilt for a Christmas present but my machine needed some overdue TLC. :(

Oh I know. I hated going to Maryland to see Audrey. I hate the good byes. I miss her so much. We have a bag of candy and a box of clothes I bought her at the thrift stores. I miss her so much.

That is simply amazing. I'm blown away by both the talent and everyone's care for that sweet little girl.

You are doing a lovely job of arranging them! It is always so lonesome when the house is empty again. Hopefully you'll feel loved by all the hands that have touched these blocks!

What a beautiful thing this is, both the project and the generosity of everyone. You truly are blessed!
It looks wonderful! It also looks as though my blocks aren't there yet, and I mailed them last MOnday, alas.I hope it is there Monday morning.............

Just one was embroidered, the others were the blank blocks I had mentioned in case you could use them..........It will be a treasure of Mei-Ling when you have it done, Patty, and remind her how loved she is, though I doubt she needs the reminder!

Thanks for taking the time to post this Patty, while Melissa's there. It's fun to see how our blocks fit in with the others. Can't you just feel all the love in that quilt, ready to surround your sweet little one?

That is going to be such a beautiful and meaningful quilt. It reminds me very much of a tradition in the China adoption community of making 100 wishes quilts. It began as a tradition in northern China if I remember right but the way we interpret it is to send each other quilt blocks along with a good wish (quote, saying, verse...) for the child with a tiny square of the fabric attached. So there is an album of wishes to go with the quilt and the wishes and wisher can be matched up with the quilt square. Anyhow, cant wait to see it all done and that beautiful girl wrapped up in her blanket of love.

Before we adopted our son Mason from China, my friends made quilt blocks and two special friends sewed it together before his shower. It was a huge surprise for me! At Mason's shower, every guest tied the blocks together and prayed for Mason. Mason loves to look at the quilt, touch the blocks and have me read the special "notes" that are just for him. I know Mei Ling will love, love this precious treasure for many years to come.
