God Doesn't Make Mistakes
A verse or two about the election...Romans 13: 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

I'd have to kick back at that government, I'd have to admit.
It's alarming when people expect the government to take care of them - that should be the provence of humanitarian aid from individuals. The government is now TRILLIONS of dollars in debt - how is it going to pay for universal health care for everyone? I feel sorry for Obama - people seem to think he can take care of everything. When they wake up and realize that he cannot take care of the budget, health care, crumbling infrastructure, the war, the schooling system and the economic crisis that faces us they're going to be in for one hell of a surprise.
As I said, I voted for Obama although I am a registered Republican. The conservative party now seems to be comprised of nothing but bible-thumping pro-lifers who have no interest in small government. Until they do, I'll vote for the lesser of two evils.
What is your solution for those folks ? What about the elderly who can't afford the medications the Doctor prescribes because its not on the list of accepted meds ?
How many folks are you persoanlly paying for their doctor visits or medications ? Hard question but reality.
I simply mentioned that I thought it strange that you quoted that particular verse with regards to the election since there would never have been a United States of America if it had not been for men rebelling against their earthly authorities.
Let me clarify-I am not suggesting a rebellion against our new president-elect. However I do think that just as so many folks have found it acceptable to question the current administration's policies and procedures-it's not any more wrong to question President-elect Obama's future policies. We're not necessarily sinning against God by rebelling against our earthly authority. I'm all for waiting to see what President-elect Obama has in store for us. But I, for one, am tired of being led blindly by Washington politicians and the media. I'm ready for change-I'm just not sure that our newly elected officials will be able to deliver it.
I believe foremost that God is sovereign and that he will remain in control of this universe regardless of who is in authority in the U.S.A. or any other country on this earth for that matter.
God doesn't make mistakes, but we PEOPLE do.
This version is actually much longer than my original comment-I can respect other's feelings and believe that you have every right to feel whatever you want to about whomever you want to but I do hope that you're willing to extend the courtesy to others. However, since this has become a much lengthier comment, feel free to not post it-I want you to know that it is certainly not meant to be a personal attack-it's just my opinion-nothing more. :-)
BTW-I also wanted you to know that I DO frequently visit your blog to see how Mei-Ling is and I am very glad that she seemed to come through this last surgery well.
Your comment never came through yesterday, but blogger had some glitches yesterday so I am not surprised that it never came showed up in my mail box.
I just had a conversation with my husband yesterday talking about the many plain people that fled to Canada during the revalutionary war, simply because they would not be in a country of rebellion against authority that God had put in charge. My own ancestors were among some of those that left Pennsylvania for Canada with the first rumblings of rebellion. I believe God can turn even our rebellion into something good for His purpose if it is His will to do so.
