November in Texas
This is a month that is full of contrasts for us in North Texas. Flowers still bloom, yet leaves turn and fall to the ground in a whirlwind of cold winds. Today is just such a day. It is damp and cloudy, a wind blows, foretelling of a change to come. Hibiscus in bloom, along with dainty tea roses. The garden is full of new life, yet around it lies acorns and pecans that tell of winter on the way. Right now, it is humid and warm, but tomorrow will be cold and right for a fire in the wood stove.
A quiet stroll around the property yielded up many sights and sounds that left me wondering what time of year it really was. Tomorrow I suspect I will know for certain that it is autumn !
