Dry Landscape




Here are a couple pictures showing just how dry it is this winter in North Texas. I just keep thinking about the poor farmers trying to plant this spring under such conditions. The wind is blowing hard today, stirring up all the dust. It reminds me of pictures I have seen of the dust bowl.

Yes, I do hope for precipitation for the farmers. But, the landscape is beautiful in its own way.

It is so very dry! The farmer who leases the land behind me disced the land a few times in September/October (I do not know why as he didn't seed anything), and with all the wind we have been having, all the topsoil is sitting as a mound on the fenceline and in my home!
We've been praying for rain!
