Without Excuse
Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
The wonders of nature all around us and even within our bodies, tell a story of a Master Creator. If we never read a single word of the Bible we would still understand the eternal nature, the divine power that is His alone. As I watched the sun rise in the east this morning, a great orange orb moving up from the horizon, and saw the beauty and miraculous life of my grand-daughter as she slept in peace in the big fluffy feather bed in the room she calls "Mei-Lings room at Grammies house", I knew without a doubt that there is a God so kind, so full of mercy, so interested in beauty and giving us joy. Even amid the many natural disasters this country has faced in the last 12 months, we still see evidence of His love. It is seen on the faces of those that put their own work down and help a neighbor, or even a stranger. His love is seen in every act of compassion and kindness. His mercy is felt the moment we feel hope. Even when all our worldly possession are lost, we find a ray of sunshine in the darkest spot, somehow finding strength to see that what we own does not define our purpose, or who we really are.
