Rain

It rained in the wee hours of the morning. It was almost cool when I was out doing chores, making me think about fall time. Looking forward to the time when you need to wrap up in a shawl, wear wool socks and can work without getting soaked with sweat.
The sky is still gray, filling us with hope for more rain to come. The ground is full of cracks, running in random patterns in the soil. The heat is drying everything up. Next month we need to plant the fall garden but right now the ground is hard like cement.
