Hawaiian Cake

My Aunt Jeanne, who is like a second mother to me, gave me this simple cake recipe. It might be easy to make but the flavor is extraordinary. She makes it often for pot lucks at her church and everyone always raves about it.

Hawaiian Cake
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda
20 oz can crushed pineapple (juice and all)

mix everything together, bake 55 minutes at 350 F oven, sprinkle with powered sugar and enjoy

Wow that sounds wonderful, and easy to keep the ingredients on hand. Thank you so much for sharing. I often forget to make food for the potluck until the last minute, so I'm saving this recipe!

Yay! No cake mix!

It is getting harder and harder to fnd simple recipes like these that don't rely on cake mix as a base.

Just think--I have everything I need in the pantry right now.

Thank you for sharing!
Patti, The cake looks yummy and it has no shortening? Thanks, Sandra

The cake looks great...what size pan are you baking it in? Do you grease it first?

I'm so glad Mei Ling is doing well. And your new puppy is adorable.

What size of pan do you bake it in??

I greased the pan, which was a bit smaller than a 9x13. I was thinking a bundt pan would work really well.
