The Morning

Chores don't take quite so long now that Cinnamon and her kids have been sold. I never was milking her but she did take a while to eat on the stanchion. Now its just Faith and Licorice for goat chores. Licorice seems a bit lonesome right now with Cinnamon gone, they have never been apart before this.
The kittens are getting big, starting to wander a bit, causing momma cat to be constantly vigilant regarding their where-abouts.
The sunshine this morning like a golden ball hanging in the sky, casting its rays on the dew soaked grass as if it had been sprinkled with gold dust. I count myself blessed to be able to just stand there in awe of the beauty of this morning. I strolled past the roses with milk bucket in hand, heavy with foamy white goodness.
After our rains, the greens around us are so brilliant, so lush but the down side of this is that the weeds in the garden have sprouted up all over the place. There will be lots of hoeing this afternoon and all the rest of the week to get things back in order. The work is worth it. Hard work yields good results, laziness doesn't !
In the house, the clock ticking is the only sound I hear, a good kind of silence, almost reverend in the depth of it. Its easy to talk to God in this kind of serenity. Easy to take my cares to Him, ask Him a few questions, and to give Him praise for the world He created for us to enjoy.
I have never quite figured out why more folks don't spend time in nature, it is after all a tiny piece of the place God chose to put mankind from the moment He created man and woman. God could have created a high rise in a concrete jungle for Adam and Eve, but He chose instead to put them in a Garden. I suspect God in all His infinite wisdom had a reason for that.

Why did you sell Cinnamon and her kids? We are downsizing some of our goat population after all the kids are born, we have more than necessary to meet our needs. Lisa in NM

With just Emery and I at home, we didn't need two milkers. Licorice gives us all we need and I didn't want to get into selling milk again.
