Life has been busy

Today after chores were done, I put little Faith, (the baby goat) into the crate and took her to the Vets to be de-horned. Time slipped away from me and her horns got too big to be burned off so they just de-horned her today. Same results in the end, no horns to get caught in fences or the milk stanchion, and of course to keep her from hurting one of the other goats. She did as well as can be expected. It was over in a couple minutes and now she is sporting a red cap of sorts which makes her look kinda cute. I will keep her penned away from the big goats for a couple days just so they won't butt her.
We have been seriously considering buying a house a couple streets over. Fantastic deal for us but it needs some TLC and it doesn't have land, but it is big, and is a bit more fancy than our little home, but I just keep thinking about all the love this house contains and the memories and its so cheap to maintain. Our utilities are next to nothing. Our yearly heating bill is about $200 and our monthly gas bill is around $22. Electric is cheap too...the new house would change all that. We keep going over and looking at it, trying to decide if we are being foolish by not buying it since we would triple our investment in a few months, or if we are being foolish to move from our beloved homestead. You can guess what our answer will be on the subject simply by analysing my additives ! We like the simple life and getting a bigger house doesn't mean anything to us, except having a mortgage for a couple years. It would be nice to give this house to Melanie and Casi so they would have more room than the house they are living in, which we bought for them but they can make due.
The flowers around here are blooming and I am seeing that there is some sort of color scheme going on, its RED, lots of red, which is my favorite color. The red tulips are just about done blooming but the red roses are just starting to bloom. There are a couple flower beds that seem to be lavender and purple but they are in the minority.
Life is good, flowers blooming, the sky is blue. We had rain and more is in the forecast. The garden is growing well. We have good health, and Mei-Ling is doing fantastic. She is now over 24 lbs, and on no medications. I am surrounded by love and in my heart is a deep sense of joy that can't be shaken. I feel blessed.

I can't see you moving unless you get more land, not less. The other house might be a good one to flip though. If Casi is handy, it might be a way for him to make some more money.

God will lead you to the right decision about the home choice.

Beautiful red--I love that color too!
No land? I just can't see that happening, you have such a love for it - hmmmmm, something to pray about for sure ;o)

Check out my blog if you get a chance, I have some really pretty beach scenes from our camping trip.

Hi Patty...I agree with Aimee. God will direct you in the right direction with your housing decision. But like you had mentioned it almost seems like you have made your decision already. The memories and the love that are imbedded in the walls and your heart of your present home should make the decision MUCH easier. God bless you both either way.

We tripled the size of our home compared to our last tiny one, but our family has also grown with two DIL's and two Grandaughters. It came with a mortage, but it's also a matter of comfort and room. I didn't have room for everybody to set around the kitchen table for a meal. In 30 years, it's the first time that our families could all come over together, so it was the right choice for us.
The boys were a little sad that we moved out of the house they grew up in (we built just right next to the old house and the old house was moved off), but the memories are in their hearts...and the location is the same.
You have to do what you feel is right. If he retires, do you want to spend so much time outside? Only you can answer that. Can you still have a garden at the new house?
It's hard to have all of the answers.
