A Strong Willed Child, in the best sense of the phrase

A call this morning, early, Mei-Lings nephrostomy tube slipped out so she had to be taken to the hospital across the street to have a new one put in, this one is sewn in or something so it won't slip out so easily. Mei-Lings doctor is off this weekend and his partner covering for him had to do the procedure at the hospital across the street. Her PIC line was leaking a bit so her right side by her ear is all swollen, yet she continues to be a trooper. What a difficult 4 months her life has been but she graces us all with her smiles and her giggles. Her eyes seem so filled with wisdom and patience. She is teaching us all so much already.

I continue to pray for little Mei Ling

Mei Ling seems to be such a dear, sweet-natured little girl and an example to all of us with her stoical acceptance of all that she is going through. She is in my thoughts each day.
It is strange (or not so strange)how one begins to "feel" as if they "know" people from their blogs. I find myself drawn to check your blog until I find the daily update on Mei Ling - thank you for sharing the journey with us, so that we can be specific in our prayers. God bless you and yours, as He continues to hold Mei Ling in the palm of His hand.

She has been through much in her young life. Thank goodness she's pulling through all of it. When I was thinking how tough it must be for her parents and for you and emery, I was reminded how lucky she is that she's living somewhere where she's able to get the care she needs. When Cooper was admitted into the hospital for what turned out to be a two week stay, at one point we were told he needed a pic line. Then we were told there weren't any doctors available who would put one into such a young baby. He was 2 weeks old when he was admitted and there were no doctors willing to do one on him because he was too small. Of course there were other options but none that were as effective as a pic line would have been. Not sure what would have happened if those other options weren't there for him.
