Joy In The Simple Things

Joy is something deeper than just a happy thought, it has deeper roots perhaps.   This morning as the sun was coming up, for a brief few moments it cast a golden glow on my bedroom curtains.  The tie back caught the most color.  The morning sun gave me the gift of a joy filled moment.  Simple thing, but beautiful, in the way that a baby's curly hair makes you smile.  It fills a spot inside of us, one that can not be filled by shopping in stores or gained by material wealth.   The sunshine, a daily miracle, was caught for a moment today in an unusual way.  A gift.  A simple pleasure.  Joy in a simple thing.   Walking through life with eyes open, ready to capture a fleeting moment of the magic of life.
