Gratitudes for A Monday

Mondays are my day for making a list of gratitude's. Just a good way for me to start my week off.
Its a gorgeous day. Sunny and bright, spring like temperatures. You need a sweater or light jacket, but its not cold.
My computer is getting old and persnickety. I know there will be a new one sitting on this desk before the month is out.
Melanie and Casi are back from the Doctors visit and the Doctor is sending them to a specialist in Ft Worth. The amazing part of that is that it happens to be the very Doctor that Casi's sister works for.
The Doctor said she is measuring a full 4 weeks bigger than she should be. They are going to be doing more tests on her and a more sophisticated ultrasound that can see the babies organs well.
It may turn out that Melanie delivers the baby in a hospital that has a neo-natal intensive care if she delivers early.
I know in my heart, beyond a shadow of a doubt that all is well with the baby. Just know it. If anything, maybe they will find out the baby is really due a month earlier than they thought !

On to my list for today
I am grateful for..............
Faith,
Hope,
Love, so much love around me
Health, I feel so strong and healthy
For perfume, how it smells and how it makes me feel.
For Emery's eyes
For sound sleep, night after night
For peeps, the marshmallow ones, they are so cute.
For Whole Foods market
For my new cookbook, La Dolce Vegan
For Dreams and Dreaming, both kinds of dreams, the ones in sleep and the ones that make us think beyond where we are
For the fun of seeing my children growing up, become grown ups.
For being over 50
For sunshine splashed on the floor
For a bunch of new books
For learning about the Law of Attraction
For finding a dime on the floor, it made me smile
For having a houseful of people I like this weekend.
For my friend Desiree, she is such a sweet person
For my sister falling in love with a great guy
That James takes really good care of Melissa always but especially well when she is sick

Your daughter's due date is probably correct, but it is commom for diabetic women to have extremely large babies. High glucose levels in the mother turn into fat deposits on the baby, particularly in the shoulder area (which can make vaginal delivery difficult). In this case, the baby may suffer from low blodd sugar right after delivery, requiring emergency care.
Sometimes a diabetic woman also produces too much amniotic fluid.
I am glad to hear that your daughter is seeing a specialist who has lots of experience with diabetic pregnancies. It will be reassuring to all of you.
By the way, the pictures of the baby shower are absolutely lovely.
I keep you in my prayers.

I,too, am sure the baby will be fine, Gabriel was 5 weeks early and only 3lb 13oz but at the weekend he went home and is doing great - a big boy of almost 5lb now. Last night I cuddled him and he fell asleep in my arms - such a joy! I'm still reading your archives and really enjoying them. Will e-mail at some stage with a few comments. Have a wonderful day:)
