A Taste of Spring

The cold morning gave way to afternoon warming, nearly 60 F out.  The sky is cloudless and the wind just enough but not too much so that when I was working in the garden, I found myself working in short sleeve.  Its time for us to get busy preparing the gardens.  Emery has finished tilling, his system is to till,  then wait until after a rain to till the second time, after that, its my turn to play in the dirt and make rows.  All around me today, the birds were singing and up above me, hawks soared on the thermals, taking me attention to them for a bit.  After making the rows I had intended to make today, I found myself laying on the grass, jacket under my head, just looking up at the sky.  Breathing in and breathing out.  Mindful of the very moment I was in.  No thoughts of what had taken place in the past, and no thoughts of the future.  Just embracing that moment with full attention.  Grateful for a life that allows me to not live to a clock and move at the pace I choose.  No stress.  Simple.  So filled with peace, but after all that work, a bit tired !

Patty,
Your musings are always so lovely. Even though your life isn't ruled by clocks and schedules, still hope you enjoy the bliss of the weekend!
