A Fantastic Weekend

Emery and I spent the weekend hiking, camping and visiting many wonderful spots in the Texas Hill Country.
Sunday night we didn't even bother putting the fly on the tent, but left it just with the screen top so we could star gaze. The milky way was right over us. In my entire life I have never seen so many stars. It was wonderful.

We woke Monday morning to see a deer grazing not more than 35 feet from our tent. We watched her for the longest time, soaking in the beauty of the moment.
In Fredricksburg we enjoyed a good German meal and did some window shopping. Also visited the Wildseed Farm and LBJ State Park. In two days we visited 3 State Parks ! Got a good amount of hiking in and that was just the way we wanted the weekend to be.
Hope to post some more later but right now we are having some bad weather. Tornado Siren went off just a bit ago so I am going to watch the weather.

Quilt exhibits are always wonderful; such a range of skills and patterns.
Close-up photos in nature are a delight.
