It's Snowing
Hard to imagine, after so many warm days, but its snowing and has been for most of the morning. Nothing is sticking though as the ground is just too warm for that. Its quite cold too for this time of the year. 33 degrees Fahrenheit, just one degree above freezing.
Emery started a fire the minute he got up, but I headed out the door to take some photos. Of course catching pictures of snow flakes against such a green background as nature has provided me, is not easy and with nothing sticking to any surface, well its next to impossible to catch a good shot.
Discouraged a bit, I headed back inside to the warmth and started cooking. Emery usually works Saturdays, but has today off. It was time for a quiet contry breakfast together.
We lit the lamp and sat talking, glancing out the window at the snow falling, laughing about silly things, holding hands and enjoying our steaming bowls of Bear Mush, along with some fried eggs and toast. Ending our meal with mugs of Cherry Vanilla tea. It was just a perfect moment so we lingered, not wanting to disturb this simple pleasure. There are things that should be done today, small jobs but neither one of us wanted to get up from the table. We talked about lots of things, and at times we just sat in silence, eating our food or holding hands. Love is grand, it really is. I am so thankful that we both want to share every moment together that we can.
Its snowing pretty good right now, we would have quite the accumulation if the ground was cold.
All the birds are in hiding, seeking shelter in piles of branches or brush, hiding amid the juniper trees. Its silent outside. Snow does that, makes the world around you quiet .
Glad I got all my laundry done yesterday. Hung sheets and towels in the gentle breeze of the morning that turned into a cold wind by afternoon, good clothesline weather.
The sky seems darker now, and more snow is falling. Think I will knit some, its a perfect day for that.
