Removed Post

I removed the post last night that I wrote for full time, stay at home Christian mothers because it seemed to make some working mothers feel defensive and I apologize for that. I know nothing about being a working mother so don't feel qualified in any way to write about the needs of being one. I could only address what I know and that was what I wrote about.
Emery and I chose a life different from much of the mainstream world, choosing to live in a small old house, buy used cars, not go out to eat when our children were home and just live a bit like days of old so we could have the life we wanted. It has worked out best for us, but in saying that, I know that everyone has to choose what is best for them, according to their standards, their beliefs, their ethics. How we live our life is not the only way to live, I certainly know that and know it would not work for everyone.
In time I will probably put the post back up, but I felt I needed to say once again who the post was written for and with what motive.

I'm sorry that I missed that post, since stay-at-home moms like myself are a bit isolated and find encouragement in such posts on the internet. Sometimes that sympathetic nod from another who has been there and done that and is reaping the rewards is just what I need to refocus my efforts. If I find that a blog, or group, or organization doesn't share my vision, then I have quietly moved on - for my time is too precious to waste on rantings and ravings of others meant to tear me down. However, anyone who has read your blog for any amount of time would know that your goal is never to tear down but to build up. I'm sorry if you encountered discouraging comments. I will lift you up in my prayers this morning for peace & encouragement.

I was surprised to see the post removed, I was curious to read the other comments. I think it was a good post, and even if you don't agree with it, well it makes you think and gives another point of view, which is never a bad thing.
I felt very concerned by the subject and was happy to comment on it - I wanted it to be neutral, I hope it isn't one of those that gave a bad impression !

Sorry I missed it. I am and have been a working mother...the option to be a SHAM was not, well it was not an option. But such is life.

I believe that moms should stay home to raise their children it is just not always possible.

I apologize if my comment was taken negatively. It is a topic we actually talk about a great deal in our household- the disintergration of the family. It is wonderful that you and Emery have taken the God given opportunity to raise your family in His rythmn instead of the US rythmn. Your rewards are great- and they should be. You are able to reap what you sowed.
My comment was more about the sadness that not all of us were smart enough to marry the person who would support us through staying home. We have moved into the workplace and done the best we can in working with our children. Some have different talents and have contributed in that way and stayed in the workplace long after many of us would have left.Still others, were forced by divorce or death into work. Are our children better off? I don't think so- but it still is reality.
I agree with Lady- there needs to be encouragement for those who are able to stay home. The path is quite clear that the "elder women" need to encourage that the family is central to God's world.
I enjoy yor posts and they hit the needed nerve- even when I don't want them to:>)

Julze, it wasn't anyones comments that caused me to want to remove the post, only some private emails where a few people felt a bit defensive.
