“Many hands make light work.”

This morning the quote by John Heywood sure rang true, “Many hands make light work.” The crew arrived at about 8:30 this morning to start the job of re-roofing the north side of our house. Just when the truck with the trailer was backing into our driveway, the police were going by and turned on their lights to stop traffic while the truck safely backed the trailer in. Its nice living in a small town where you know a lot of people and they know you. Emery chatted with the police officer for a minute or two, we have known this officer for years and he is a good man.
Steven and about 7 other young men set right to work. By 11, the job was complete and some of the young men stayed for lunch which was so nice and of course its always nice to have my son sitting at the table with me ! I just made a simple meal of baked beans and hot dogs, potato salad, corn bread and a spice cake for dessert.
Its an absolutely gorgeous day, sunshine, blue skies, cool yet not cold. It was perfect weather for the roofing work to be done.
I am feeling really good today, stopped all the antibiotics and feel more myself than I have in a long time. Got a lot done this morning and enjoyed having the energy with which to accomplish a few things.
Thanks to Steven and all the other young men from his church who came and helped us this morning. God bless each of them.
Our children are such blessings to us.
Here are some pictures from the morning.

Nice that you had good weather and the roofing is all tidily done. Your menu is one of our warm weather favorites--nothing like a good potato salad [with a pinch of dillweed!] and a well seasoned pot of beans.
