Evening Quiet

Chores were done long ago...milk bucket and strainer, washed and hung up to dry. Eggs gathered and boxed. Shoes kicked off at the back door, bare feet happily walking down the hall.
Evening silence has come with a certain kind of grace. Darkness outside the curtained windows, and flickering light casting shadows around the room. Soft music and easy conversation mingle, never stepping on each others toes. Hand holding on the sofa. Our loving children have checked in on us, sharing their day with us. What more could I ask for ? Life is simple and life is good.

Just discovered you - what a lovely post! I think we have a lot in common - we are doing a bit of simple living ourselves in England (UK).
