The Gentleness of The Day
Awake before the sun, gathering herbs for the day while the dew is still heavy on the ground. Gray skies giving way to blue, sunshine rising in the eastern sky. Chores done, food prepared for the weekend. Wash hanging on the line, dancing in the spring breeze. It feels like a day of introspection for me, one of meditation...with a prayer on my lips. Gregorian chants playing softly on the stereo. Incense burning, filling the air around me with memories of special church services.
These are the days I love the best, ones devoid of the busy-ness of life. Days where there is time to be silent in thought. It is the gentlest of days that fill me the most.
