The Decorating Continues

The Living Room gets decorated today.  So far the tree is up and has about half the ornaments on it.  I love our old house, with all its idiosyncrasies.  The rooms that are not squared, the ceilings that seem to slope a tiny bit here and there.  The floors that squeak, and the doors that have decades of paint on them.  It is the house where my children ran down the hall, where family gatherings have given so much pleasure.  It is the home where toys have been scattered from end to end, and laughter has rang in our ears.  Where fevered brows have been soothed and where hugs are freely given and love has filled each room.   It is a home with a long history.  Early residents of this community lived here.  It is alive with its own story.  It may not be a palace or a mansion, but it is a home, filled with love, each and every day.
