Time is moving too fast
This month is flying by for me. So much excitement in each day as we near Christmas. Packages to wrap, rooms to decorate, holiday baking to do and this year we seem to be supporting the economy by doing LOTS of shopping. This weekend is our annual Christmas party which means lots of planning, lots of cooking and baking going on. The last few mornings I have been awake by 5, with my mind instantly running full gear with all the excitement of what lies ahead. I feel a bit like a 6 year old, waiting for Santa to arrive. Perhaps this is part of my childlike enthusiasm that I often write about. Monday night was our towns Christmas parade and fireworks. The crowd was larger than most years, the people were shouting "Merry Christmas" to all the parade participants and children were sharing the candy that was tossed to them. It was like a Hallmark movie. The little ones faces beamed with delight as Santa arrived and as the Grinch was riding in a jail cell being hauled by our local police vehicle. The adults cheered and laughed as the green Grinch's fingers wiggled as he held onto the bars. Soldiers received cheers and thanks as they marched by. The start of the fireworks began with a cannon being shot off. It was wonderful ! Our town is small enough that you always see friends and neighbors at such events. I love that.
This is a wonderful time of the year !
