Autumn Winds

Autumn winds are blowing this morning, creating bands of leaves flying off the trees in such a way the one thinks of leaf dotted ribbons dancing across the roads.  Its a wonderful time of year.  One of preparations for the cold, although I still prepare with that same sort of urgency that one gets growing up in New England, even though Texas winters are mild.   Tonight a wonderful evening in store for us.  Melissa is on her way here for the weekend.  We are all so anxious to see her, its been a couple of months since she has been home and for us, that is way too long.   Family is joy.  Time to build a fire in the stove and get supper started while the light from the day is still shining in the windows.   Life is good.  Blessings abound.

I agree...I just love this time of the year. YOur photos are always so pretty. I was noticing this afternoon that the last of the leaves have blown off the trees now and they are winter bare almost everywhere nearby.
